Our second annual CABsterical Comedy Jam was an extraordinary event.
We rented out the Merced Theatre to seat a max capacity of 1,184 people and for the second ever at the theatre, they had a full house.Every seat in the theatre was full and there were even students standing in the back to witness the event.
We worked with agents to bring Rob Schneider and Steve-O to perform. We got a ton of great reviews once the event was over but one reoccurring complaint that we did get was on about venue capacity. We rented out the largest venue within a 40 mile radius and this still was not able to accommodate us. Considering our University has approximately 6,000 undergraduates, we had about 1/5 of population downtown for this event. This also brought great revenue and publicity for the local restaurants & shops.
Aside from the amazing show that the comedians put on, Steve-O took the time to take 698 selfies with attendees.
We worked with a printing company to make shirts for this event and we sold them for a minimum of 5 dollar donation to the Typhoon victims in the Philippines. In total, we raised $595.00 in which we donated with the help of Unicef and our schools Phillipino American Alliance.
